Love Byte is set in Edinburgh - one of the most beautiful cities in the world. The storyline makes use of some of the city's best known landmarks as a background which I believe adds depth to the story.
When I set out to write this book I knew vaguely where the hero Andy Hunter was heading but I had absolutely no idea how he would get there. I'm relieved to say the characters eventually managed to navigate their way through the narrative and the various obstacles I put in their way and I hope the ending when you, the reader gets there, delivers what you wanted.
Andy Hunter is a single father trying to balance the demands of a 2-year-old daughter, an interfering but well-meaning mother-in-law and a job he is always in danger of losing. So, when he receives a series of delayed emails from his late wife Lindsay, offering to find him a new girlfriend, he reluctantly decides to go along with her plan. With his dead wife's emails spurring him on, Andy weaves a path of disharmony and chaos amongst his close friends and family, and soon discovers he is not cut out for all this dating malarkey. Filled with laugh-out-loud situations and moments of soul-searching, this heart-warming, moving romantic comedy is a bittersweet tale of second chances and self-discovery. The feel-good book of the year.
Love Byte is available in paperback now from Amazon and most online retailers. It is also available from Waterstones and other good high street bookstores. (Published by Buried River Press an imprint of Robert Hale Ltd.)
